GRECE (Research and Study Group for European Civilization) is an intellectual think thank of the new right (La Nouvelle Droite) founded in 1968 by Alain de Benoist. GRECE claims that the new right is not political movement but school of thought dedicated to European ideas expressed especially in Germanic and Nordic cultures. It advocates Neopaganism instead of Christian monotheism.

Heteregenous intellectual group, which is however united by its common conservative criticism of modernity, support of so called traditionalist viewpoint and by its opposition to multiculturalism. Believes that civilization which loses its traditions and hierarchies is doomed to perish sooner or later. Represents traditionalist perspective and the tradition of thinkers like Joseph de Maistre, Oswald Spengler and Julius Evola.

Represents American new right, which claims of taking its guiding principles from French Traditionalist and from René Guénon’s The Crisis of the Modern World.
