Research project on the birth of the western political space and thought in ancient Greece.

The representation and constant influence of this scene in the European political thought.

It is a common knowledge that the ancient Greece forms the primal scene of western conception of politics and political thought, the initial act and birth of the politics, which derives its very name and notion from the ancient community of citizens (πόλις [pólis]).

But what really is this “primal scene”, which has been re-memorized, re-constructed and re-fantasied recurrently in western thought, especially when the thinking of politics and political had been at the stake. What is this primal scene, which seems to return always in a novel and different forms, especially when political excitement and passions are aroused?
